Shipped on May 5, 2003: 1 item - delivery estimate: February 18 - February 24

...now granted, I preordered it in December, but... it never had a publication date announced earlier than May. W. the F.
  • Well, of course.. it was the DVD of the 2002 remake of 'The Time Machine'!

Yes, I will go off stage now, please stop with the rotten tomatoes, why are you approaching me with that large pipe OW OW OW please stop
    • hee. Actually, it's the new Storm Constantine. This happened before with the new Nick Cave.

It's sort of irritating just in that whole niggling '...why can't UPS tell you how long it'll take to get from A to B WHEN THEY GET THEIR PAWS ON IT' sort of way: they slap a delivery date on the item and then never change it, basically. This is sometimes frustrating (the new Nick Cave album took 1 month to get to me and was never re-ETA'ed once). And sometimes it's just funny, as above. ;)
  • Agreed. Just tonight I schlepped down to 42nd St. to the FedEx delivery area, because their dude was like a week earlier than they'd predicted him to be. The box was like eighteen by thirty-six feet; after I lugged it home, I discovered that fully 90% of its volume was occupied by one of those feather-boa-shaped plastic-bag space-occupying thinguses. I proceeded to pop its poufy bits vigorously! Take that, shipping and packaging morons! Yes, and that! And that! Haha, I poke you with my knifey-knife knife!

I have too much time on my hands.
