President Bush: 'We believe there are chemical weapons in Syria.'

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush said Sunday, "We believe there are chemical weapons in Syria" and that the Iraqi neighbor "needs to cooperate" with the United States and its coalition partners.

I wonder who comes after Syria?
  • Iran.
    • Iran, so far away?
    • From the Onion awhile back:

Government No Longer Even Bothering To Hide Halliburton Favors

WASHINGTON, DC With last week's announcement that it will award
Halliburton a lucrative contract to put out Iraqi oil-well fires
after the war, the U.S. government has officially stopped trying
to hide its favoritism toward the Houston-based company. "When we
first started cutting Halliburton sweetheart deals, we'd worry
about how it would look, with Dick Cheney being their former CEO
and all," White House press secretary Ari Fleischer said. "Somewhere
along the line, though, we just kind of said, 'Ah, fuck it.'"
Fleischer added that Halliburton has something "real juicy" coming
its way when the U.S. invades Iran in July 2004.
  • I though Iran would be first. Iran is in between Afghanistan and Iraq. I think Bush lost alot of Risk games.

You may also live in it, and we can call it the Cassandra Complex.
  • the onion

The onion has been increasingly prophetic. Take for example this one, which I'm sure you all remember when it first came out, on January 18, 2001. It's frightening how many of the things mentioned in jest and satire have ACTUALLY HAPPENED.

heh, that one's linked a while back-- you pointed it out elsewhere and I went '!!!' and tossed that link up here.
