i love this show... (by punkr0ck3er)
...because it was a Twin Peaks tribute episode (titled 'Dual Spires').

Wow, it was interesting seeing who'd aged well (Sherilyn Fenn (Audrey Horne), Ray Wise (Leland Palmer) and Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer)? All looked great (though I knew Ray was looking good). Dana Ashbrooke (Bobby Briggs) and Lenny von Dohlen (Harold Smith, the guy with Laura's secret diary)? both looked reeeally really rough.

First reference- 3 seconds in, about silent drape runners.
Most blink-and-you'll-miss-it reference: the moose-head on the table at Bob's house (which was Dana's character's name).

They gave me just enough about the show to grasp why what I was there for came up and still snicker at the characters who weren't special guests.

Pretty awesome stuff, all told. And if you didn't watch it yesterday night you missed out on the blooper reel as well as about 5 minutes of other stuff that boiled down to a fairly humorous '...Dual Spires is pretty intensely whacked, let's get out of here'.
  • Dude. Seconded. I even meant to make a FB post about how worthwhile it was for any TP fan to see it.
    • I am hoping that if an illicit copy is floating around on the intertubes, it includes that little tail-end bit, which was an amusing bit of denouement.
  • Oh, you might just have inspired me to start watching Psych again (even though all the Twin Peaks jokes will just sail over my head). I've been kinda disappointed in this season and haven't watched the past few eps.
  • Actually the first reference was the chocolate bunnies on the desk.

Psych is one of my favorite shows, and they do theme episodes better than Glee.

  • Loved it!

They also did a great job with the incendental music throughout the episode.
  • I'm HOPING it will be available "on demand" tonight, because I want to watch it at least 2 more times. :) I guess apparently Ray Wise had guest-starred in a previous episode and they reused the character he'd played before. Sheer genius, in any case! Thank you again for posting about it.
