...but I still got a bit choked up.

Thanks for a lovely season, Stephen. :)
  • I knew things would work out well when, at the early big dramatic moment, the Doctor appeared in a puff of smoke (literally!!), with a mop and a fez.
  • Godammit. Fey and I still need to see Children of Earth, and then the four specials that wrap up Ten's arc, and then we can finally get into the season that's just ended.
    • hahah 'wrap up 10th Doctor's arc' hahaha

      IMHO, they're simply window dressing.
  • I need it to be the Christmas special now.
  • I enjoyed it, but what I think would make it even better, and this is unlikely but the post-Big-Bang-2 events didn't really contradict it, so I can hope for it anyway for now?

Would be if Rory was still an Auton, ready and willing to pop that hand-gun when danger strikes.
    • SPOILERS FOLLOW

SERIOUSLY don't keep reading if you're not watching the UK-aired show and are instead watching it on ScyFy or something...

okay, yeah, it'd be cool if he was- but there're a few problems with that, most notably the fact that to become Rory-the-Auton Rory first has to meet The Doctor who he could not have met.
      • Re: SPOILERS FOLLOW

Or Amy, who is the apparent sole arbiter of what can or can't come back based on what she remembers, ended up remembering Auton Rory Who Guarded Her For Almost Two Milennia And How Fucking Devoted Is That You Can't Get Any Better And Besides He More Or Less Has Original Rory's Soul Anyway, and the universe shrugs and makes things work out in the background.
        • Re: SPOILERS FOLLOW

          Hmmm. A fair point.
Who knows, maybe he IS Auton-Rory. We haven't seen the Williamses in flagrante, after all.
          • Re: SPOILERS FOLLOW

Can he have the swappable head?
            • Re: SPOILERS FOLLOW

Okay, Auton-Rory probably COULD have the swappable head, but that sounds just wrong given that he's so emphatically remembering being Rory.
    • Re: SPOILERS FOLLOW

Psh, Amy needs to teach him all about variety.

YES OF COURSE I WOULD LIKE AUTON BOYFRIENDS SHUSH.
    • Re: SPOILERS FOLLOW

Oh dear. Now I have visions of Rory as a Dresden Doll ("Coin Operated Boy") and/or Next Gen's Data (who WAS 'fully functional' according to Tasha Yar...)

      *giggling*
  • Stephen Moffatt has far too good a grasp on time travel to be entirely human. I have decided this. It must be true.

And given that I was honestly ready for something to go dreadfully direly wrong in those last minutes, I cheered when the credits rolled.
    • What really creeped me out about the episode was that i was EXPECTING some of the 'here's me from the present going back to the past and doing this thing' stuff that happened- and yet the rapidfire of it took me so by surprise that I missed the 'oh yeah, I knew that'.
  • *soft smile* I saw it coming, too, but it was beautifully done.

It was the Pandorica, after all -- and so I'd have been disappointed if the box did not have that one last thing left at the bottom... that, and he KEPT saying, "Nothing is ever truly forgotten."

    Moffat rocks.

      'Something old... something new...'
      Gads, I was mistyeyed.
      • Re: SPOILERS FOLLOW

*grin* Yes. One of the best lines of the season.
        • Re: SPOILERS FOLLOW

I'm still just floored by how Moffat made of the season one 12-or-13-episode arc... when we couldn't spot it until the next-to-last episode.
    • Re: SPOILERS FOLLOW

      multi season arc!!

we still have to find out stuff. (the cracks, who controlled the Tardis, who was The Voice)

will River not show up again till she shoots 11 and he becomes 12?
      • Re: SPOILERS FOLLOW

I'm fairly sure River will turn up before we get 12. Whether it's a River who's contiguous with what we've seen of River is anyone's guess.

Yes- why the cracks, who controlled the TARDIS, who said 'And in the end was silence' (I think that's who you mean by the voice?). I don't doubt Moffat will do as good a job making it all make sense as he did with this season.
        • Re: SPOILERS FOLLOW

By the voice I mean that when River ewas driving the Tardis in the Pandorica ep, she got 'stuck' in 2010 and this croaky voice came on the scanner saying 'Silence will fall. Silence will fall'

I think though if we see a River who isn't the next backwards one it ruins the arc so far - she and the Doctor keep living lives in reverse to one another.
    • Re: SPOILERS FOLLOW

It's part of his cleverness to return to old pieces and re-integrate them into the new storyline. He's not a writer as much as he's a weaver. :D

      • Re: SPOILERS FOLLOW

Damned stunning weaver, then- especially given that all my favorite episodes of Dr. Who post-Davies-reboot? He penned.
