I'd forgotten how often we saw Magritte

So last night, tossed and turned for half the night- finally said 'screwit' and got my glasses on. Finished off the novel I was reading, went out for a smoke, came in, tugged my shirt off--
and my glasses went 'snap', right above the inner corner. So mercifully, I'd brought my sunglasses, so I can still see- however, I'm debating what I want out of a new pair of glasses.

Do I get the same frames I was wearing, again (as a bit of research last night revealed they still make them)? Do I get something different? What do you think I should get different, if you think I should mix it up? Ovals? Round? Rimless?
  • mix it up!

i'm looking at frames right now. it's a tie between a danish and a japanese designer. but the danish pair is cheaper.
    • There's a pair of Armani horn-rimmed half-rims that I am... kinda coveting.
  • X-ray.
    • I don't WANT to see what's going on inside people's abdomens, how many times do I have to tell you people this!
  • As I've recently discovered, how strong your prescription is heavily affects what kind of frames you should get.

The wider the frame, the thicker the lens. Half rim and rimless need even thicker lenses. So if you have a strong prescription, stay far away from wide rimless frames unless you want the Coke bottle effect.
    • Yeah- my old glasses, even though they were half-rim, were high-index plastic and still quite thick. However, not so thick as the non-high-index sunglasses.
  • I am a huge fan of these very utilitarian but somewhat sleek glasses with titanium frames. They. Will. Not. Break. And the frames are rather small so if I use high index plastic I don't end up with coke bottle lenses.
    • They actually WILL break!
But you have to have stepped on them a couple times. And they break a few months after the second time you stepped on them.
      While you remove a T-shirt.
