Cirque du Soleil observations, part 2: Is it just me or...

...is there something specifically a bit queer (meaning, not-hetero) about a circus performance which includes men and women, in skin-tight suits, crawling all over- well- people of the same sex?
The first act of Varekai does not include any real contact between members of opposite sexes, at all. There are also a lot of rather... hmn. Suggestive bits, perhaps. The most suggestive were the two trapezists who were basically spending about 1/3rd of their performance clinging tightly to each other and swinging around above the audience. grinning like loons.
I'm not complaining, mind you- just a bit surprised they felt they could be this forthright.
