Voter turnout in 2000 was a record low.

It's a lot easier to have a conclusive election if, you know, people elect someone.

Get out and vote, in November. I don't especially care which side of the fence you vote- but please, do vote.
  • here here.
  • What candidate supports putting fifty foot tall Tom of Finland billboards along your route to work?

Because that candidate, sir, is the candidate for me!
  • I voted in 2000. I will vote in 2004, though the Lemur's victory convinced me more than ever that votes don't count.

and I think that's why voter turnout is so low. People like me are convinced it won't make a difference one way or the other -- or if it's close, the one with more bigwigs in his pocket is going to win.

    • From my perspective, if half the liberal-minded people who were convinced voting didn't work gave it a go anyways in 2000, the election would've turned out differently.
      So...

  • Not only do I vote, I do my best to get the teenagers worked up. Want to freak out a room full of High schoolers? Casually mention the plans to start the draft next year.

Student #1: "But the election will stop that won't it?"
Me: "Depends on what happens in the election."
S#2: "If they touch my brother, I'll kill them."
S#3: "What happens if we won't go?"
Me: "They can send you to jail."
    S#3: "How long for?"
    Me: "I don't know."
S#4: "I don't want to go to jail or Iraq."
S#2: "If they touch my brother, I'll kill them."
Me: "This is why voting's important. This is what all that protesting was about in the '60's. Some people fled to Canada; others signed up as conscientious objecters."
    S#4: "I'm going to Canada."
  • I wasn't old enough to vote in 2000. Now, I am voting for Kerry. Anyone but Bush, 2004.
