Wow, that was a serious nostalgia trip. The guys were in great form- boggling form. They played Cracker stuff for a good 1.5 hours, then left the stage and then came back and did another 2 hours of Camper Van Beethoven.
Terrific show. They were having fun.
Did you know Camper Van Beethoven turned 21 today? Me neither.
And they've recorded a new album. It's titled 'New Roman Times' and it should be released in September.

  • Wow! Wish I'd known about tht show. Although I probably wouldn't have hauled my ass out for it anyway, but who knows.

Camper is old enough to drink? I feel aged.

Did they play 'Eurotrash Girl' in the Cracker set? I've always had a soft spot for that one, for obvious reasons.

I saw a really good show over ten years ago, back on the East Coast, which was Cracker, Gin Blossoms, and Spin Doctors, all on tour together. (In that order of billing, I *think*.) Gin played well but very much as if they were feeling the weight of the long tour (and other pressures), but the other two were energetic as heck. Fun show.
    • Yes. 'Telephone Free Landslide Victory' could walk into a bar and buy booze legally.

They did indeed play Eurotrash Girl. They played... damn. Just about any Camper Van song you'd HOPE they would play, really. I was amazed at the sheer breadth of how much they played. They didn't really stop between songs, either: they were up there on that stage for 2 hours doing song-- onebreath-- song-- one breath-- song.
      For 30 minute stretches.

      Frigging amazing.
    • looks like i missed out too!

      • Given that I told you...

...and you and I talked about viewing CvB in the past here, you have only yourself to blame. ;)
