1: unearthed a trove of the DelRey massmarket Lovecraft reprints from the 80s- which means I actually HAVE a good solid run of Lovecraft in the house now, without buying the OOP Arkham House hardcovers, or the three-times-as-expensive-and-half-as-complete Ballantine trade paper editions.
2: I still very much like the new Stranglers album.
3: it is not hot.
4: I get to go home in 3.5 hours.
5: I have a cool roommate.
6: I have a good apartment
7: and a well-paying job.
8: I have several books that are waiting to be read- among them are two I've been specifically waiting for.
  • NEW STRANGLERS ALBUM???

    WHERE???

    WHAT IS THE NAME????
    • Album's name is 'Norfolk Coast'.

      Good CHRIST.
      Amazon.com wants $41.99 for it.
Meanwhile, amazon.co.uk wants roughly-$15.22 for it, and shipping's something like 9 quid.
      • Similar story with the new SLF album, though they finally have an American release date in June.

Hell, I even saw Mike Peters being interviewed on Headline News about the new Alarm album...
      • I am going to Britain in September. Should you have NOT picked this album up by then, then...
      • my mistake: UK->California postage on 2 CDs was 4 PS.
So ordering from amazon.co.uk is DEFINITELY cheaper than ordering from amazon.com.
    • Dude! That was my reaction exactly :)
      • I'll be in britain in September. If you've not pickedup the album by 9/2/04, I can certainly grab a copy and mail it to ya. ;)
  • !!

Thanks for the reminder to focus on the positives instead of dwelling in the negatives.
    • You're quite welcome!

Listing the good things always helps me out when I'm forgetting and dwelling in the negatives: figured other people may not have known that one. ;)
    • Re: !!

      I second that comment.
  • Is this a Happy-post or a Trying-to-Cheer-Oneself-Up-Post? I hope it's the former.
    • It was a successful effort to interrupt running around in a downwards-turning circle: I was being extremely grouchy and dissatisfied. But I'm just fine now.
