scared of you.
So jwz linked to this, earlier today.

I haven't read The Golden Bough in the better part of a decade if not more, but the prohibition about letting Bush's feet touch soil is somehow reminding me of the sacrifice of the king, in winter, as detailed therein.
Anyone else wondering if GWB REALLY is a sort of a sacrificial lamb?
  • It DOES actually give me hope.
    • it gives me the creeping willies, frankly. The parallels between these rituals I'm recalling and the events of Nov 20-22nd, 1963, are startling.
  • I kind of suspected they would give him up, because he's so fundamentally useless except as a symbol, and what better way to use him as a symbol than have him be a martyr in the war on terrorism? Saint Bush.
  • (no subject) -
  • as a tim powers fan, i'm so used to the mythos he draws on...the first thing to go through my mind is:

shrub, as king of the east?
    • scared to death of you, woman. Gaaaaaah.
      • just leaves the question - who's king of the west?

what? why are you looking at me like that?

going to go to bed and read aegypt some more, now.
        • If you enjoy AEgypt, I can certainly loan you 2 and 3. 4 is written- but Harper-Collins hasn't decided they want to publish it. write them nasty notes, if you're enjoying it.
          • after my most recently completed reading experience, i am once agaion reserving judgment on liking a book until after i'm done...i mean, i'm quite enjoying it so far. but.
