woe is me

Paris is very cold when you come from California.

I ache in places I didn't know I had places.

If there's something in your LJ that I missed commenting on over the last week please point me at it here, because I'm sure I will not be able to get past tuesday this week on skipping back.
  • Welcome back to the Country of Round Doorknobs! I'm so glad you both had a lovely time (at least from the sound of Tracy's posts), and I can't wait to hear all about it and see pictures.

Meanwhile, hot showers and painkillers and feet up.
  • Whoa, awesome. Or at least, from the initial lack of mentioned ack situations, it sounds like it was awesome! Did it snow there? 'Cos then.. you know.. OMG YOU WERE IN PARIS AND IT SNOWED. Maybe you can just say it did anyway! [/excitedtoreadofyourexistenceagainramble]
  • Welcome home!

I need to replace the scope on my sniper rifle MISSED YOU!
  • You might get a kick out of the movie I talked about in this post.

    Welcome back!
  • *grin* Welcome back!

[obligatory, but still true] Isn't it the most wonderful place on earth, despite the whole `cold as hell' problem? *happy sigh* I never thought I'd like it there. I liked it so much I really and truly do want to move there, if ever I can manage to learn some proper French. [/obligatory]
  • Hooray! You return!
  • Clearly I have been so bloody out of touch from LJ I had no idea you were even going to Paris. Ah well...Welcome back!
I guess this is what I get for spending all my time at my David's house with only a measly little dial-up....
    • P.S. I'll be moving to LA within a year. HAR! We can visit easier and stuff.
      • excellent!
And I'll probably be moving out of the apartment by then into somewhere bigger.
  • Thread from earlier:Off topic, (and possibly posted twice) but I have to drool on your icon but I thought it best if I notify you first.

    Their reply was:
Subject: Re: Game, Set, and Match
Hee. Mine is a wee baby vampire bat, sitting atop a human knuckle, for she was born in captivity. It's a really neat story and I should memory-mark the entry in my LJ: the wee beastie gets more comments. ;)

I can't reply to you for some reason from the comment..so I'm replying here.hope you don't mind:

Reply: *Gasp* and you have lovely snake icons too. I would love to read the story if you could link me? I am a huge (mild understatement) fan of bats and snakes. (And frogs and spiders...sighs..but mostly bats and snakes.)

And congrats on going to Paris!

    • I unfortunately can't find the original story anymore. Summary: they're relocating a bunch of endangered bats from the Dominican Republic to a large abandoned home in Arizona, so as to preserve the species. While they were moving their first batch to their new home, one of them gave birth to the wee beastie.

And of course I have snake icons: colubra is latin for snake. :)
    • Going through old posts...

you asked where the cute baby bat icon came from: I recently re-found the story that she was linked to in the local newspaper's website, and you can read it here.
