An entry of mine from a while back, with THE BEST TURKEY RECIPE EVER in it.
For those of you uncertain what to do with your birds.
  • What, is it filled with Lucky Charms?
    • No, but it is delicious. Read the recipe, if you have to bother with cooking one of the damn things.
At the end of it, if you're doing it right, you wind up with
      3 stinking drunk chefs
1 bird that is JET BLACK and SMOKING...

...and which falls apart as you try to get it off the rack.
      Best. Turkey. Ever.
  • I'll have to do that sometime, that sounds great. Delicious turkey and getting plastered at the same time? Now that's a definition on joy.

By the way, I love your bitey icon.
    • Why thank you!
and I assure you- it is the BEST turkey EVER. BAR NONE.
And I say this even having only eaten the bird and NOT gotten drunk while making it.
  • I'm amused that Martha Stewart has a version of it online too, sans the 'let's get drunk' aspect. :)

    • Wow... that's.
      Wow.
It actually looks like a good modernization. I have called the attention of our chefs to it. ;)

      Happy thanksgiving!
      • It wouldn't be the first time Martha nicked somebody else's recipe, apparently: She has been frequently accused of ripping off Julia Child.

And I greatly prefer "about this stage I switch to martinis" to "tie the trussing string into a bow".
