New label for him (EMI). I'm listening to the first track right now, and it seems like the best thing he's done in years.
I'm not sure what it is I like about his voice. And honestly, his voice is in ROUGH shape, on this track. I'm hoping it's just a choice of emphasis and / or accent, rather than him losing his voice. Or perhaps he was just sick that day.
Now I'm on to the second track. Perhaps I've just been listening to 'Fear' and 'Paris 1919' too much lately, because his voice sounds distinctly off to me. The arrangements are really dreamlike- there's a strange waking-dreaming quality to this album that I don't remember noting in other albums of his.
I think I like it, yes.
