Is this funny?

I'd forgotten how often we saw Magritte

I can't decide.
The context may be limited to far too few people. But I laughed until my stomach hurt.

A bit of context: 'objoke' = 'joke that you are obliged to make'. The 'comedy' equivalent of saying 'bread and butter' when you and the person you're walking with go on opposite sides of a streetlight pole.
  • well, if it's limited, I got it. Hee.
  • I think you most likely had to be there. :)
  • The sheep cylinder joke is phallically obvious, if you've even seen gyros prepared.

The Noh joke is more obscure, so I didn't get it. But I understood what you were doing.

    Wait. Tengu.

    Another phallic joke there?
  • I can't help it. I still chuckle every time at the you brought 'er, you <insert word ending in an er sound' objoke. :)
  • I've been part of other groups where the objokes became ritualistic, so I think the idea of them turning into Noh Theater is pretty damn funny. So is the idea of selling a gyros cart on eBay. But I'm not in on the joke enough to get the last few lines, except to realize that they were funny in an abstract way, and in an objoke-converted-to-Noh way, and in an inside-joke-for-someone-else way, and I like the complexity of that.

So I didn't laugh, but neither did I say "Well, THAT'S pointless."
